Mark your calendars: World Children's Day is Nov. 18
Family Centre Supports Inclusion & Equality for Every Child
Family Centre will celebrate World Children's Day on Friday November 18, 2022. This year's theme is equality and inclusion for every child.
Family Centre continues to provide freely accessible mental health counselling services to families with children ages 4-18 in Bermuda. We deliver impactful youth enrichment programmes: Youth Leadership Academy, Beyond Rugby Bermuda and Beyond Yoga Bermuda for teens who need them. Family Centre will always be an advocate for children's rights and wellbeing.
Your support helps us create a more equal and inclusive world for children.
Girl Power Kicks into High Gear at Beyond Rugby
Beyond Rugby now has a Girls Rugby Team!
October 2022 marked a new era for Beyond Rugby Bermuda. This is the first time that we have a rugby team of female students from both CedarBridge Academy and The Berkeley Institute! Family Centre's Beyond Rugby programme supports and inspires youth to reach their full potential on and off the rugby field. Youth receive rugby training, academic and social-emotional supports, exposure to character and vision building experiences, meals and transportation as part of the programme.
Due to the increase in enrollment, academic support volunteers are needed. If you have the time and want to make a difference in a young person's life, sign up now to volunteer.
At Beyond Rugby Bermuda, the power of inclusion is brought to life.
YLA Ensures Equal Access to Opportunities for its Graduates
Congratulations to our YLA 2022 Graduates!
This year, 15 graduates completed their 4.5 year Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) journey. This represents a 100% graduation rate. All of the youth surveyed reported that the YLA programme helped them to work towards and achieve their goals. YLA also helped them to visualize a positive future for themselves and plan how they can get there.
Below are two testimonials from YLA graduates:
“YLA helped me to work towards and achieve my goals by helping me to never give up. This programme also connected me to different job opportunities that have helped me to grow and figure out what I want to do.”
“YLA helped me to realize and understand that having goals is important. It provided us with multiple employment and growth opportunities. The most important thing I am taking away from my experience is that asking for help isn’t bad.”
Your support makes success stories like these possible.
Mental Health Matters to Everyone
