Inspiring brighter days for families!
Hip Hip Hooray - Summer is Here!
Summer is finally here! Children and parents alike are celebrating the end of school uniforms, homework and the stress from tests and exams.
Family Centre has been buzzing with activity. Families are getting the care they need, children and teens are learning essential coping skills, and young people are discovering the power of their voices, because you make this possible.
What's Happening in Community Outreach Programmes
Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) high school students put their public speaking skills to the test with a workshop on Elevator Speeches! Our students were challenged to write a personal statement and record a short 'elevator speech' video! Listen and watch as they share their personal statements!
Summer Fun at Pontoons!
Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) middle school students enjoyed a fun day at the beach appreciating our coastal environment and discovering sea creatures while connecting with YLA staff and volunteer mentors. What a fun way to end the school year!
Ace That Interview!
Beyond Rugby Bermuda youth took part in an Interview Skills Workshop! Thank you to the volunteers from Expertise Limited, Liberty Specialty Markets and other professionals in the community. This was an amazing opportunity for our students to network and practice their interview skills. Our Beyond Programmes are now on summer break until the 2022-2023 school year commences.

Helping Girls Overcome Anxiety
Our six-week therapeutic Girls Group focused on managing anxiety and building positive self-esteem. The goal of the group was to help the girls develop and practice skills in healthy self-expression and assertion.
Rishèe Paschal, Family Centre Counselling Team Leader shared: "These are skills for life because they learn about the connection between their thoughts and emotions. They have the coping skills to meet those needs and regulate themselves."
Seven girls ages 12-15 benefited from the weekly Girls Group sessions.
