Your support gives hope to families. ![]() We are planting seeds of hope, so that families can harvest the fruits. Loquats are ripening on the trees, birds are singing, and children, teens, and their families are receiving the therapeutic care they need and deserve. Your amazing support provides healing, hope, and a brighter future for families in Bermuda.
This newsletter shares the many therapeutic groups and activities that your support helps make happen. New to Family Centre is our therapeutic Mothers Group called "Bloom." Our popular "Co-Parenting & Blended Families" Family Group is coming up soon. In addition, we are running our Social Skills Groups for boys and girls. These specialized group services assist children, teens and their caregivers to learn self-compassion and coping skills to build resiliency, so that they can better face challenges. Our therapeutic groups also provide the opportunity to relate to others and learn from one another in a safe environment. At Family Centre we promote understanding, empathy, and acceptance which allows healing and progress to occur. Read more about all of these exciting groups below. May spring time remind you that every flower blooms at its own pace. Family Centre is here for you, and your mental wellbeing is important to us.
What's Happening At Family Centre This quarter, Family Centre's Counselling and Community teams have been busy delivering groups, workshops, rugby training sessions, career fairs and more for our children, teens and families. Here are some highlights of what's been happening! "If you tend to a flower, it will bloom, no matter how many weeds surround it." Counselling Team Leader Alisha Mecene leads our new "Bloom" therapeutic Mothers Group. Eleven mothers have spent the last three weeks gaining tools for enhancing their self-awareness and self-compassion while parenting. Counselling Team Members Ge'Von Greaves and Carissa Darrell lead "The Brotherhood" therapeutic group for boys ages 11-13, with a focus on self-awareness, individual reflection, processing emotions, self-development, cultural identity, and the power of their choices. Counsellors Carissa Darrell and Rishee Paschal prepare for the "iAm Powerful" therapeutic group for girls ages 13-16, with a focus on managing intense feelings such as anxiety through healthy self-expression, as well as building confidence and coping skills. Thank you for making these experiences possible for our children, teens and families!
