Meghan Stanton’s Bermuda Day Half Marathon Fundraiser: Donate Now

After giving birth to Grace, I started running to lose the baby weight. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it and I set my sights on May 24th and training for a half marathon. I was so excited to be a part of this day that is always Bermuda at its very best. And then the world turned upside down and running gave me something I never could have expected.

It gave me a sense of strength and control in a scary world. Almost every morning during lockdown, I laced up my shoes and ran my worries away (in tiny, half mile loops around my house). I ran and ran and ran until the world felt ok again. I knew May 24th would be cancelled, but I just kept moving forward because it seemed like the only option.

And now our community must try to rebuild, little by little. The Family Centre has always been on the forefront of helping families heal. They provide the skills and resources that are needed in difficult times, and I can imagine no greater need than the present.

The official race may be cancelled, but I am still going to run my first half marathon for this amazing organization and I am hoping you will consider supporting me with any donation you can.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
